Description
A stone path leads to the entrance of this detached, luxury chalet with plenty of privacy and an atmospheric Alpine character. It features private parking, a lockable shed with electricity and a workbench. On the ground floor you will find a heated space for skis, a cosy living room with wood-burning stove, dining area and a fully equipped open-plan kitchen. Enjoy peace and quiet and mountain views on the L-shaped terrace!
A big advantage of Donnersbachtal is its location in the Austrian state of Styria, not far from Salzburgerland. You pass the border crossing at Passau and thus avoid Munich. As a result, even in high season, you'll drive towards your holiday traffic jam-free! The accommodation in Donnersbachwald is located on a gentle slope with breathtaking views. With its fantastic location near the Riesneralm valley station, the park offers direct access to nature and a babbling brook.
The Austrian winter transforms the area into a fairyland with two snow-sure ski areas, Riesneralm and Planneralm, together accounting for 50 km of slopes. For families, the child-friendly Riesneralm is ideal. Looking for variety? Try the natural toboggan run or cross-country trails close to the chalet.
Summer reveals a different kind of magic with various hiking trails, mountain huts, the challenging 5-Gipfelweg, 3D archery, the E-Enduro Bikepark and fly-fishing. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the unique Gipfel pool, at 1900 metres above sea level, and admire the 360-degree view there. Mountain lakes and streams will cool you down on hot summer days. A dream spot from January to December!

House Hestia is really superbly furnished, everything has been thought of. We stayed at Haus Hestia with 3 families, which was no problem at all with 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms. The location is a little out of the way in a small chalet park. It would be nice to have a small food market nearby and maybe 2 reserved parking spaces. If you went skiing by car in the morning, the car park was gone afterwards. Very annoying as there are not enough parking spaces. In addition, some of the car parks and the access road to some of the chalets are difficult to use in winter as they are often very steep and therefore slippery.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is very well equipped, directly in front of the house is a great stream, which gives the village its name. The area is very quiet and idyllic. 5 minutes walk from the house is a super great village tavern ,,Roßstall with a super dear landlady named Melitta. We can only say good things about the service of the house, just as the people are very present.
Haus Hestia is a lovely holiday home, we were there with our family , 6 adults and 3 grandchildren, at the end of December. The location of the house is beautiful, 15min walk to ski lift and 2min walk to a real old Austrian stube. The interior of the house is very tasteful and comfortable, cosy wood-burning stove and the sauna are certainly nice extras. We had a wonderful holiday there in Donnersbachwald.
Haus Hestia is a lovely fully equipped house. We really enjoyed a wonderful ski week!
