Skiing at Hochkönig

Hochkönig Winterreich is a long stretched area, with the possibility to ski from one side to the other. There are 120 km of groomed slopes here, up to an altitude of 2,000 metres with over 30 modern lifts. Waiting times are not long. The routes go over not too difficult slopes, which makes this area suitable for families and people who just want to ski or snowboard quietly. For skiers looking for a challenge, this area is less suitable. They may find a challenge outside the slopes or in the fun parks. A nice tour is the Königstour, a 32 km ski tour with great views of the Steinerne Meer and the Hochkönig. On the way you will regularly pass mountain huts where you can relax. The village of Dienten is the most central, which is why you can make the most of the slopes from here.

Hochkönig Winterreich is part of Ski Amadé, which is why you can also use your ski pass to go skiing or snowboarding for a day in the ski area of Flachau, Gasteinertal or Schladming.

Funparks Hochkönig

There are three fun parks in the area, with quarter pipes, kickers, boxers, rails, etc. Between Mühlbach and Dienten, for example, lies the beautiful freestyle park 'Blue Tomato Kingspark'. This park is suitable for beginners as well as for experienced riders.
Cross-country
For cross-country skiers there are 40 km of trails here

Hiking ski area Hochkönig

The 85 km of winter hiking trails offer plenty of fun for hikers. A beautiful hike is the Abergwanderung with a length of 6 km. This leads from Maria Alm to the Bärmooshütte. You can also take guided snowshoe hikes in the area.

Hochkönig - Mountain huts and aprés ski

There are several cosy alpine huts on the slopes where you can enjoy a drink or a meal. The view from the terraces is stunning. The largest village in the region is Maria Alm. Here you will find the most facilities. Après-ski is not as pronounced here as in nearby Saalbach Hinterglemm, but you can sit comfortably in the bars in the villages after skiing. There is a discotheque in Mühlbach.
