Chalet on the slopes of Zillertal Arena
Königsleiten, Salzburgerland, Austria
This detached chalet is located right on the slopes of the popular Königsleiten ski area, making it a real ski-in and ski-out. After a long day in the mountains, you can relax in the private sauna, accessible from outside. And with the typical Austrian décor, the holiday atmosphere is always right at home! On the second floor are bedrooms with bedsteads. Please note: Resort Alpenwelt facilities (including wellness) are at an additional charge
Enjoy together the cosiness of the village with its various shops and restaurants and that of nearby Gerlos. Königsleiten is located at a snow-sure altitude of 1,600 metres, on the border of Salzburgerland and Tyrol.
The chalet belongs to the luxury wellness resort, Alpenwelt, where you can make use of a lovely indoor spa pool, massage, hay bed and relaxation room with breathtaking views of the mountain world. You can also book your breakfast and dinner here on site. Are you travelling with small children? Then you can also use the kids' club for a fee.
In summer, there are many opportunities for hiking and mountain biking. Nearby, you will find many attractions such as the reservoir near Gerlos where you can go pedal boating in summer. A visit to Europe's largest waterfalls in nearby Krimml should not be missed either

When booking you should consider the winter closing time. It was pleasantly quiet in the village, but unfortunately nothing was open and we had to drive about 30 minutes in the morning for bread rolls and shopping. If you are travelling towards Krimml, you should also be aware that you have to pay a daily toll. The chalet was great. There were 14 of us, so we all had plenty of room. The sauna was great! Our contact person on site was always available and dealt with our concerns directly. We can really recommend the chalet.
Location top, house overdue and hotel service leaves much to be desired.
It is a prime location: right on the slopes and less than 100 metres from the valley station gondola. Service from the Alpenwelt Resort hotel is very good: check-in time is officially 15.00 but we arrived early in the morning with 2 dogs and were allowed to wait with the dogs in the hotel restaurant (Susi Alm). Communiction about this was also good and fast. We were eventually able to check in as early as 12.00, very nice . On the last day, some of our group only left at 17.00 and were allowed to leave their luggage behind the hotel desk until then. Also very nice! They had also very thoughtfully placed food and water bowls and blankets in the chalet for our 2 dogs. Chalet H itself is a bit outdated and somewhat corny, but fine. Well-functioning appliances in the kitchen and plenty of glasses, cutlery etc. A few good knives to cut vegetables etc would be nice though!
The chalet, presented as part of the luxury wellness resort Alpenwelt, totally failed to live up to the promises of luxury and comfort. For example, the sleeping facilities were far below par for half our group, especially considering the sky-high rental price of almost €15,000.00 per week. On arrival, there were several defects including broken lamps, a non-working sauna and no cold water on the ground floor, with mould in the bathroom, heating broke down. This shows a lack of care and maintenance. Parking passes that did not work. Despite its perfect location, the chalet requires urgent renovation to achieve an acceptable level of luxury and comfort. In addition, the King's Bar apres-ski late into the night caused considerable noise pollution. The kitchen worked well, despite too few plates, too many beer glasses, too few knives (and knives), too few bowls.
