A paradise for families and beginners, as the slopes in the villages of Maurach, Pertisau and Achenkirch are not overcrowded and offer a pleasant skiing experience.
Ski areas Christlum, Rofan and Zwölferkopf
At Zwölferkopf near Pertisau, you can take the Karwendel cable car up to 1,500 metres and descend into the valley via two pistes.
Opposite is the Rofan mountain range, accessible by the Rofan cable car from Maurach. Once at the top, breathtaking views of the enchanting landscape await. The pistes around the Rofanspitze and the Gschöllkopf offer variety for all levels of difficulty.
From Achenkirch you can reach another highlight: the Christlum ski area. The chairlift takes you up and you can look forward to a variety of slopes. There is even a fun park and boardercross. Although the areas are connected by a free ski bus service, the offer for experienced skiers remains somewhat limited. However, the picturesque surroundings and cosy villages certainly make the Achensee ski area a truly beautiful winter sports paradise.
Toboggan run on Achensee
With a toboggan run also suitable for winter sports days with more than two boards, Lake Achensee is the perfect destination for families. While parents and brave siblings whizz down the challenging slopes, younger ski stars can have a blast in the Dinopark.
