The versatile skiing area of Zell am See - Kaprun is situated at an altitude of 760 to 3,029 metres and is one of the most famous skiing areas in Austria. It is an ideal ski area as it offers a very wide range of slopes, ski lifts and activities.

Zell am See and Kaprun are the two best known villages in the Zell am See - Kaprun ski area. Other villages that belong to Zell am See Kaprun are Schüttdorf, Bruck, Maishofen and Piesendorf.

Zell am See is an authentic town with a cosy, car-free centre. Here you will find several terraces, some overlooking the lake, and a selection of restaurants, cafés and discos.

The Zell am See - Kaprun ski area offers a wide range of slopes for winter sports enthusiasts of all levels. In total, there are over 140 kilometres of pistes here, ranging from easy, wide slopes for beginners to difficult, steep slopes for experienced skiers. The ski area has a modern and efficient lift infrastructure that gets skiers to the slopes quickly and comfortably. There are a large number of chairlifts, gondola lifts and drag lifts that make skiing enjoyable and stress-free.

The ski area consists of the Schmittenhöhe and Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel mountains. The Schmittenhöhe is more suitable for beginners and families as it offers easy slopes and many children's facilities. 

On the Maiskogel in Kaprun there is a smaller ski area with slopes for beginners and children. However, the slopes here are well prepared and offer a safe environment. Here you will also find a toboggan run, which is illuminated in winter.

The 3K K-onnection connects the Maiskogel with the Kitzsteinhorn.
The Kitzsteinhorn is the highest glacier, at an altitude of 3,203 metres. Here you can ski and snowboard wonderfully, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains! As it has many difficult pistes and deep snow slopes, it is more suitable for experienced skiers and snowboarders.
