A winter dream in Tyrol in a holiday home in Zillertal

The Zillertal in Tyrol is a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. With its snow-covered peaks, glittering ski slopes and cosy mountain huts, it attracts thousands of visitors every year. If you want to spend an unforgettable winter holiday in this region, you should choose a holiday home in the Zillertal.

Why rent a holiday home in the Zillertal?

In the Zillertal, the Zillertal Arena is the largest ski area with its large, extensive area. It covers the region from Zell am Ziller, via Gerlos to Wald-Königsleiten, to Krimml-Hochkrimml in Salzburger Land. There are 143 kilometres of pistes here, up to an altitude of 2535 m and 51 lifts and/or gondolas. For skiers and snowboarders, there is a wide choice of slopes of different levels, combined with good après-ski facilities.

Be sure of snow
The Zillertal Arena is almost 100% snow-sure. And if the weather doesn't play along, the snow cannons are ready and waiting. The altitude of the slopes goes up to 2500 m. The Zillertal Arena is really popular. Gerlos, Wald im Pinzgau, Zell am Ziller and Königsleiten are the most popular resorts. The perfect winter sports holiday for the whole family, from your big holiday home in the Zillertal.

Skiing

The villages
Zell am Ziller is the first village in this area. It lies at an altitude of 600 m and has its own valley run. The village is easily accessible by free ski bus, as are the villages of Wald im Pinzgau and Krimml. A little further and higher in the valley are the villages of Gerlos and Königsleiten. From Gerlos you can take the Isskogelbahn to a gently sloping slope where beginners and the easily experienced in particular can ski well. Above the quiet Königsleiten lies a somewhat more challenging area. Very suitable for experienced skiers. A little lower in Königsleiten is the Gerlosplatte with blue slopes, very suitable for beginners.
The Königsleitenspitze above Königsleiten is perfect for off-piste skiing. Between Übergangsjoch, Isskogel and Königsleitenspitze you can make beautiful, long day tours at an average altitude of 2300m. This ski area also has 6 fun parks, a race track with speed measurement and a video downhill run.

Holiday home Zillertal - the right choice for families
The Zillertal has a great offer for children, with a nice programme they won't get bored with. A true ski paradise with wonderful children's slopes. And FUNTY, the life-size yellow elephant, keeps an eye on everything. There are three ski schools where children learn about winter sports in a playful way. There is also snowsailing and the children's ski disco for the kids in addition to skiing.

Fun parks
One of the six snow parks is the Snowpark in Gerlos, a true paradise for snowboarders. It is located in the south along the Vorkogelift and has an area of 30,000m2. The access is at an altitude of 2020m, where you can start directly at the first obstacles. The Snowpark Gerlos has a beginner area, a medium kicker line and a pro line for the pros.

Ski huts and après-Ski

In the many ski huts and mountain restaurants along the slopes, you can enjoy typical Austrian dishes during a break. Relax comfortably with something to eat or drink while enjoying the view. There are more than 30 huts in the Zillertal Arena that invite you with their Tyrolean hospitality. For après-ski, you are also in the right place in this ski area. Many winter sports enthusiasts warm up after a full day of skiing in a bar or pub with cosy music. Have a quick after party and round off the day! Zell, Gerlos, Königsleiten, Wald and Krimml are the most famous places for a lively après-ski life. The most popular bars are: Jogg's Kessl in Zell am Ziller, Hannes' Skialm in Königsleiten and Seppis am Isskogel in Gerlos.
